Liyen Restaurant - Gambir in Jakarta

We have been eyeing this restaurant for a while. Finally had a chance to try it. We had wished it would be an excellent experience, but it wasn’t so😔Their menu on Zomato seemed promising, although a little steep in price. How shocked we were upon finding out the current updated skyrocket prices. Didn’t want to be rude to leave the empty restaurant (at lunch time), we could only afford 3 dishes: Lindung Cah Fumak, Leher Babi & Guiling Gao.Lindung Cah Fumak & Guiling Gao were just ordinary while the Leher Babi was quite special (considering this was the first time eating this meat)...so our visit wasn’t a total disaster after all. Will we come back? I think you know the answer to this😉

Been here for my friend's birthday dinner. IMHO - the food quality and taste was magnificent, the service was very good and way above the mainstream Chinese restaurant which usually used as the place of birthday party/family dinner. Price was average -- however, it's balanced with the quality, taste and service; highly recommended to try!The recommended menu here:- Roast Pork Neck with Scented Sweet Sauce (Leher Babi Bakar Saus Wangi). - Pork Tendon with XO Sauce (Urat Babi Saus XO).- Guiling Gao (Herbal Turtle Jelly) dessert.

Great food, well executed. Their roasted pork neck is a must try.The place is convenient enough although finding parking space (as with all other restaurants in the area) can be difficult.The only thing that keeps me from giving 5-star is the consistency, which can differ between excellent (everything just right) and just good (ie. still yummy, but a bit too oily).

great chinese food in jakarta.. maybe better than angke. Worth a try. Their signature dish is the pork neck with sweet and sour sauce

Nice n tasty food. Our fave menu is belut cah fumak, fried noodle, fish soup, prawn lumpia. The place is located in the city center, so it is easy to be found.

Good portions, a variety of options, and relatively fast service (only one dish seemed to take a while to come out) made for a good and relaxing lunch that filled all of us up. I didn't order so I don't know the names of all the dishes, but the fish and tofu dish had some incredibly delicious tofu! I can see why the place was fairly busy when I went.

One of the best chinese restaurant, located at Batu Tulis, North Jakarta, Indonesia. There is only limited parking space but the restaurant is very clean and have very nice ambience. The services is very good. The food taste is fantastic. Must order: Mun Tahu. Recommended menu: Lindung Cah Fumak, Phak Cam Keh, Leher Babi. The dishes has 3 size options: small, medium and large.

Established perhaps decades, this restaurant provides famous "Ayam Garam" in its time.Bit costly IMO, but if you are looking for famous old time culinary places, this place must be noted in your lists.

An old style hakkanese restaurant. In Jakarta, you have a lot of hakkanese resraurant, and some are better. Having said that, the food is still good, but nothing extraordinary.

The ambience is not so good, the foods are delicious, and the service is good

This place famous for pork dishes.Almost everything pork. You should try the fried pork ribs,meat so juicy and tender. and they have all kind of portion small,medium,large. So you can eat with your own portion.Located in the crowded place of batu tulis near laguna restaurant. One thing minus it's so hard to get a parking spot.

Chinese restaurant serves delicious meals mostly contain pork. Most delicious meal IMHO are pork’s neck and Lindung Cah Fumak

Not halal! This place is well known for their many pork dishes, I especially liked their fried pork ribs. Many of their other dishes also delicious, service of the staff was great, place is clean and price wise is a bit on the expensive side, but still fair. Great place for family gathering.

What a great hakka food reataurant. Taste awesome, reasonable price, good ambience, suitable for family dining. They provide VIP room as well. Mak sure to order the mapo tofu and the pork neck.

Yesterday night - 5 Feb 2019, we ate there at Liyen Restaurant Batu Ceper, we have to pay additional 10% charges for the food and drink (exclude tax and service charge). When we asked the cashier, she said it is always like that every year during Chinese New Year... Unfortunately, They did not inform us at all before we ordered the food or during phone booking before thatFood taste overall is good even though some of the food is very salty...

The place was big enough for group and they also have vip room that can be booked with a minimum order. The foods were ok, not special. A bit dissapointed with the portion.

The fish is very fresh but a bit of expensive. Good taste.

Chinese food restaurant. Pride itself as the authentic Hakka (one of the major Chinese race) cuisine restaurant. The head chef is Chinese. The 2nd floor is capable of transforming into a small ballroom for around 300 seats. The pricing is in the upper tier although the food quality and tastes are superb. The only downside for this restaurant is the parking space. It only has around 4 slots of car parking space.

Best pork cheek in town, very reasonable price. Will definitely come back again for more.

Good service, dishes came out really quick. Honey roasted pork & chili&salt pork ribs are superb. Can't say the same for the salt chicken. In general a good meal though.

One of hakka restaurant in Jakarta (not halal), good food, they have private room upstairs. Quick service, attentive server, very recommended for family (portion quite big even they have small, medium or large option). Price more less, around the same with other Chinese restaurants.

Price is so expensive compared to the portion served, taste wise is just so so. There's less parking lots and you may need to park further and walk. Serving pace was very slow and most of the staff unable to cope with lots of customers during lunch hour, we waited for 30mins for each dishes to be served and we asked the manager on why it's slow, she mentioned it's due to there's an event they need to attend to in 2nd floor which for me it's ridiculous excuse as you need to maintain the pace of food serving with or without event as you customer is paying for the food and service. Wouldn't go twice to this restaurant.

Pleasantly surprised by the food, the capfumeh was great! So was the streamed prawn and the fish maw soup. The dongpo meat wasn't the best though. Friendly and accommodating staff!

The taste is really good... and big portion for your family to eat..
